"So what?": Ali Zafar shuts down those mocking Pakistani cricket team's English

Actor Ali Zafar responds to those trolling Pakistani cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed's discomfort with English. Watch his viral post here

On June 18, Pakistan won against India at the ICC Champions Trophy Finals 2017 at Oval, in London. Their historic win came as a bummer for most Indians who were disappointed to experience the one-sided match holding in Pakistan’s favour throughout. And since, cricket matches, that too between India and Pakistan, create a buzz around the country, the enmity was evident on social media as well. From banters, hostile remarks to deep direct insults, the fans on both sides did not seem to stop.

Despite the disappointment of losing the match, Indians unanimously agreed on the fact that it was a well-deserved win and congratulated Pakistan for displaying some good cricket on the field. Yet, there were people on both sides who trolled the Pakistani Cricket team on their English speaking skills. Especially, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s hesitation to speak in English was made a massive subject of fun.

After Pakistan’s glorious win, Pakistani singer Ali Zafar shared a video with his fans on Facebook. In the video, Ali looks elated on Pakistan’s win and congratulates his country on their tremendous win. He also went ahead to spread a message of love to other countries and invited them to Pakistan. “Everyone and anyone in this entire world, Pakistan sends you its love”, he said.

Ali also used this video to share his view regarding the English speaking skills of Pakistan. He gives a befitting reply to trolls saying, “Hamari jo angrezi hai wo hum ese hi bolte hain. Agar gore hamaari tarah Urdu nahi bol sakte, to usi tarah hum unki jaise angrezi nahi bol sakte” (We speak English in our own way. If white people cannot be as fluent in Urdu as we are, then we cannot speak English like they do).

Destroyed. In. Seconds.

The video has garnered 145k views and has received a positive response. Indians fans also ushered their love for Pakistan on their well-deserved win. This is what they said:

“We’re not sour loser, Ali. You played well you deserved it. With love from India”

“Congratulations team Pakistan hope other thing in between us also be good soon so that as u said we can sing together.. love you all.. stay blessed stay happy and eid Mubarak ho in advance.”

I love you zafar Bhai love from India. Sad for India team but happy for our neighbour glory of Pakistan team is returning. Both the countries should feel proud ki finals mein pahunche padosi hokr.”
