Gold, phones and much more for the Bangladeshi cleaner who was mocked for staring at jewellery shop window

There was an outpour of support for the cleaner after a Twitter account 'Ensaneyat' tweeted the picture and vowed to find him

A Bangladeshi cleaner working in Saudi Arabia was clicked while staring at into a jeweller’s window. The image went viral on social media where he was ridiculed by an Instagram user who shared the photo with a caption: ‘This man deserves to only look at rubbish’.

But what he got in return for that was something beyond what he could ever have imagined. The 65-year-old cleaner, Nazer al-Islam Abdul Karim, was swarmed with gifts.

There was an outpour of support for the cleaner after a Twitter account ‘Ensaneyat’ tweeted the picture and vowed to find him. The tweet was shared more than 6,500 times after which he was located and identified.

Nazer says he had no idea that such a picture had been clicked. However, he said that he was thankful for the gifts that he received.

Bags of rice and honey, return tickets to his home country and two mobile phones – ‘an iPhone 7 and a Samsung Galaxy’ are among the gifts that he has received so far. The list is expected to increase as social media users have vowed to continue sending gifts to Nazer.
