Apple on Friday launched its swanky new gadget Macbook Pro, overhauling it’s top-end laptop series after a break of nearly four years.

The new Mackbook Pro marks the exit of the conventional function keys and features Retina quality touch display known as Touch Bar. The new Touch ID integrates the power button on the Mac and allows users to use make payments using Apple Pay.

According to Apple, the new Macbook Pro is the thinnest and brightest version of Macbook Pro to date. While the 13-inch model weighs 1.37 kg and is 17 percent thinner than its previous model, the 15-inch Macbook Pro weighs 1.83 kg and is 14 percent thinner.

While the 13-inch Macbook Pro is powered by 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, the 15-inch model is powered by 2.6 GHz Intel core i7 processor. Both the laptops feature four thunderbolt ports that double as a charger, USB port, HDMI port and a display port. As far as memory is concerned, the 13-inch Macbook comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD can be configured up to 1TB; while the 15-inch model comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD that can be configured up to 2TB.

Both the laptops feature Intel Iris Graphics 550 with a larger Force Touch trackpad and run on Mac OS Sierra. Both the laptops come with 10-hour battery life and will be available in two colours- silver and space grey.

As far as the price is concerned, while the 13-inch with Touch Bar will be available in two variants- $1799 (Rs 1,20,173 approx.) and $1999 (Rs 1,33,533 approx.), the 13-inch model without Touch bar will be available at $1499 (Rs 1,00,133 approx.). The 15-inch Macbook Pro will also be available in two variants- $2399 (Rs 1,60,253 approx.) and $2799 (Rs 1,86,973 approx.) respectively.
