Alert! Xiaomi Redmi 5 specs leaked

Xiaomi has listed two smartphone models on TENAA. Is Xiaomi ready to launch another smartphone already?

It was only November 2016 that Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 4 in India and Redmi Note 4X in China and it seems that the company is already working on two new smartphones. According to the details leaked on the Chinese certification site TENAA, Xiaomi has listed two smartphones with model numbers MAE136 and MBE6A5. And of the two smartphones, MAE136 is being touted as Xiaomi Redmi 5.

According to the details leaked on TENAA, MAE136 will be powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and run on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow. The dual – SIM smartphone will come with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory that will be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone will feature a 5-inch HD display (720×1280 pixels).

As far as the design is concerned, Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone will sport a metal build with rounded edges and a fingerprint sensor at the back. The dimensions of the device measure at 139.24 × 69.94 × 8.65 mm and it would weigh just 150 grams.

The specification leaked on the certification site further suggest that MAE136 will sport 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS for connectivity and it would be powered by a powerful 4,000 mAh battery. Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in four colour variants– gold, rose gold, matte black, and dark grey. However, there is no word on the pricing or when the company is planning to launch the smartphone.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s has unveiled Turok Steinhardt smart sunglasses on its Mi Shop. The sunglasses feature a borderless design and can filter ultraviolet (UV) rays completely. The aviators are made using nylon polarising material making them virtually invincible.
