The idea of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt playing football is taking the football fraternity by storm. Rumours had been circulating the internet which stated that Lightning Bolt dreams of joining football after his retirement, and the 30-year-old is planning to join German club Borussia Dortmund.

Die Schwarz-Gelben chief Hans-Joachim Watzke confirming that the legendary Olympian will train and practice with the German Bundesliga outfit in the foreseeable future left football fans speculating in the social networking platforms. “It was no joke and not a marketing move,” Watzke told Kicker, a Deutsch magazine. Asked if Bolt actually does have a footballing future in Dortmund, Watzke replied, “We don’t even need to talk about it.”

Both Borussia Dortmund and Usain Bolt are sponsored by Germany-based sports wardrobe giants Puma, whose supremo Bjorn Gulden contacted the Yellow and Blacks to reiterate that Bolt wishes to join them. Watzke welcomed the notion stating, “We are delighted and take this as an honour.” He also said that Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel remains keen on the crazy idea.
