Proud moment for India! Shooter Pooja Ghatkar wins bronze in ISSF World Cup

Pooja Ghatkar, who finished third at the ISSF World Cup, scored a total of 228.8 in the 10m Air Rifle final.

In a proud moment for the country, Indian shooter Pooja Ghatkar has won a bronze medal at Women’s Air Rifle at International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in New Delhi on February 24. China’s Mengyao Shi clinched the gold medal, while Dong Lijie captured the silver medal. Pooja, who finished third, scored a total of 228.8 in the 10m Air Rifle final.

This was Pooja’s first World Cup medal after making it to two finals last year. Earlier on On March 3 last year, Pooja narrowly missed out on a medal after ending up fourth in the women’s 10m air rifle event.

Since her winning news broke, the social media site Twitter got flooded with congratulatory messages. BJP’s young leader Poonam Mahajan too took to her Twitter handle to congratulate Pooja for achieving this feat. She wrote: “Congratulations to shooter Pooja Ghatkar on winning the bronze medal in ISSF World Cup.”
