Wimbledon is here, it is time for the whipped cream with fruits to be ushered. The iconic lawns in Great Britain is ready to host the world. For Indians, it is a big day as Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes start their campaign today. Earlier, the first three days at the grass courts were all about the Mens & Women’s singles matches, but now the Indian interest comes to the fore as the Indian doubles players will be battling it out at the lawns. The only problem is that Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna are not playing together but have different partners. So Leander Paes joins hands with Canadian Adil Shamasdin and their campaign begins on Thursday. On the other hand, Rohan Bopanna will be teaming up with Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

Leander Paes and his partner square-off with the unseeded Austrian pairing of Julian Knowle and Philipp Oswald. this is a round of 64 match.

In this match, Paes and Shamsadin will start firm favourites to make the second round at Wimbledon after the Indo-Canadian pair’s recent success. The duo head into the ongoing grasscourt major on the back of some positive results. This will boost their morale for certain.

On the other side, Knowle and Philipp suffered a first-round exit in Nottingham, before which they were knocked out as early as in the R16 round in Nottingham Challenger by Yuki Bhambri and Dudi Sela.

Whereas, the other Indian in the fray, Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin will go up against the eighth seed German pair of Mischa Zverev and Dustin Brown. This is going to be a mouthwatering clash.

When: Paes’ Men’s doubles first-round encounter is the first match on Court 8. It starts at 11:30 am BST, 4 pm IST. Bopanna’s Men’s doubles first-round encounter is the third match on Court 9. The first match at the said court will begin at 11:30 am BST, 4 pm IST.
