Post retirement, Sachin-Sehwag partnership continues to amuse fans

Sachin and Sehwag engage in a war of words on social media

When we talk about opening partnerships in cricket, one pair that is mentioned in everyone’s list is Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. Both of them opened the innings for India in 93 ODIs and put on 12 hundred-run stands and 18 fifty-run partnerships. Gathering 3919 runs at an average of 42.13 between themselves, the pair was a nightmare for any bowling attack in the world.

While fans cherished their on-field presence, post-retirement, the duo continues to amuse their followers.

After India won the second Test match against New Zealand, Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the team on becoming number one in ICC Test rankings.

The Nawab of Najafgarh saw the tweet from Sachin as an over-pitched delivery. And Sehwag being Sehwag, he pounced on the delivery  (Sachin’s tweet in this case). The former India batsman, who has become an internet sensation with his witty tweets, asked the God of Cricket for his blessings. Sehwag has been roped in along with former India team-mate Zaheer Khan for the commentary of the ongoing India-New Zealand Test series.

Sehwag, who is a commentator along with former India team-mate Zaheer Khan for the ongoing India-New Zealand Test series, asked the God for some encouragement.

Sachin, being the wish-fulfilling God that he is, blessed Sehwag in his next tweet.

But that wasn’t all, Sehwag wasn’t content yet. He took a dig at Sachin for endorsing Mukesh Ambani’s newly launched product “Jio”.

The fans on social media were in splits seeing the banter between the two legends of Indian cricket. Wonder what stroke Sachin will play next?

A stroke that has cleaned Sehwag all ends up.
