Indian Men’s team defeated Colombia in the finals to clinch the gold in the compound event in Shanghai on Saturday. Indian team comprised of Abhishek Verma, Chinna Raju Srither, and Amanjeet Singh, were too hot on the day as they proved to good for their Colombian counterparts. They won by a score of 226-221, which shows it was a neck-and-neck battle.

Verma is also going to take on USA in the compound mixed team event with Jyothi Surekha Vennam for the bronze medal playoff. The duo lost to second-seeded Korea 152 -158 in the semis. So, there lies another medal hop for the nation.

ANI has also confirmed the news from Shanghai where the event is taking place.

Atanu, who impressed last year at Rio, made a quarterfinal exit after going down to Dutch debutant Steve Wijler, who later made a dream final by beating three-time Olympic medallist Im Dong Hyun in the semifinals.

Ace-archer Deepika Kumari also lost out in the last-eight round after losing to Hayakawa Ren of Japan 1-7.
