The entire nation saw the disappointing downfall of the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting line-up in the game number 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens while chasing an easy target of 132 runs. Probably RCB lost the game there itself in the third ball of the first over when skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed by Nathan Coulter-Nile for a duck. This unfortunate incident left the entire RCB dugout in sorrow while Virat Kohli was totally annoyed by his dismissal right at the beginning.
His rage was clearly visible as for the very first time in this IPL season he was out for zero. The furious captain left the field with a hot head and threw his cricket gears all around after reaching the dugout. Surely, he was not at all happy with the then ongoing situation. Right there he waved his hand calling a match official and lashed him out while taking his seat. While he was giving an earful to the official, the other RCB players were at him with crossness. The entire episode was captured on the camera and was shared on IPL’s official website.
Despite the presence of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, the entire batting order was collapsed within 49 runs and couldn’t withstand the KKR bowling attack for even 60 balls. They not only lost another game but also set a weird record of the lowest team total in all the IPL seasons.
After the match ended, Kohli stated the reason of loss terming their performance “disgraceful”. While speaking to commentator Michael Hussey, he asserted that they are a better batting line-up than this and their play was unacceptable. He also revealed that he faced some problem with the “small sightscreen” and that was the reason behind his dismissal.
And as seen in the video, it is pretty clear that he indulged in a heated conversation with the match official regarding the same sightscreen issue.
