Though the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) kickstarted their tournament very well with winning back-to-back two games but after that, they suddenly lost their plot in the tournament. However, they once again tried their best to make a comeback against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and but they failed to make it and lost by 26 runs in the match number 33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10.

This was the first game for KXIP which was played in Mohali. Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell invited SRH to bat first after winning the toss. David Warner and Co. showcased an outstanding batting performance and with the help of 3 half-centuries by David Warner (51), Shikhar Dhawan (77) and Kane Williamson (54), the orange army managed quite comfortable to put a grand total of 207 runs on the scoreboard.

Punjab had to chase down a big mountain of runs and to begin this journey, Manan Vohra and Matin Guptil came to the crease. Guptil played his first IPL 10 game as he replaced Hashim Amla and provided a fiery start to the team. He hit a six nad 4 fours during his stint and scored 23 off 11 balls before he was dismissed by the purple cap holder Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. The opening pair added a total of 26 runs and then the man in form, Shaun Marsh.

Marsh thrashed almost every bowler of Hyderabad with his batting performance while at the other end, he suffered a lack of partners thoroughly. Mana Vohra (3), Glenn Maxwell (0), Eoin Morgan (23) and Wridhhiman Saha (2) tried to accompany him at various moments but failed terribly. While on the other hand, Marsh seemed confident to score runs continuously.

However, the way he was playing it seemed for a while that Punjab could take away the match but unfortunately, Marsh gave away his wicket to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar while he was trying to hit another biggie and was caught by Deepak Hooda. After hitting 2 sixes and 14 fours, Shaun Marsh scored 84 runs off 50 balls with a strike rate of 168.

The lower order broke down soon against the SRH bowling attack which took Punjab on the losing side.
