IPL 2017 KXIP v DD: Biggest ever win by Punjab, thrash Delhi by a thumping 10-wicket victory!

With this victory Punjab has moved to 5th position in the points table with 8 points while Delhi are still at the last position

In the game number 36 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 held in Mohali, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Delhi Daredevils (DD) like a boss by 10 wickets and gained 2 more points in the tournament. Earlier it was Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore who got all out for 49 against the Kolkata Knight Riders and set the lowest team total in this season. And today, DD were the next who scored the second lowest team total of 67 runs.

KXIP’s pacer Sandeep Sharma was awarded as the Man of the Match for his magical spell of 4 overs in which he conceded 20 runs and picked up 4 wickets.

With this victory, Punjab has moved to the 5th position in the points table with 8 points while Delhi is still at the last position.

Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell won the toss and invited the Delhi guests to bat first. Zaheer Khan was ruled out of this game due to a hamstring injury while Karun Nair led the side. The Delhi batting order trembled like never before and the entire team was back to the pavilion in the 17th over itself after putting 67 runs on the scoreboard.

On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell and Co. were relaxed as with the hard hitters like Martin Guptill, Hashim Amla, Maxwell himself, Shaun Marsh, the target of 68 runs looked pretty simple to chase.

Amla and Guptill opened the innings for Punjab and started charging the bowlers right from the beginning. It was beneficial for them to end the game as soon as possible so that their net run rate could improve. Both of them had the same thing in their mind and their collective efforts took their team to victory by 10 wickets with 73 balls to spare.
