IPL 2017: Gautam Gambhir all set to play his 100th match as KKR captain against RPS

Under Gautam's leadership, KKR had a superb tournament so far and they are at the second position in the points table with 10 points

The entire cricket fraternity is very well aware of the fact that how the Kolkata Knight Riders rose up from a poor state right after Gautam Gambhir was appointed as the new skipper in 2011 after Sourav Ganguly. Not only KKR emerged as one of the strongest sides since then but also won two Indian Premier League titles in 2012 and 2014. And after such a glorious journey throughout, Gautam is all set to play his hundredth match for KKR as a skipper against the Rising Pune Supergiant in Pune on April 26.

On this occasion, the KKR social media team has shared a video wishing him all the very best for his hundredth game on their official Facebook page. The video was shared with a caption which said,”O Captain, My Captain! Watch what Gautam Gambhir‘s teammates had to say on their skipper’s 100th appearance for KKR in IPL. Watch the full video here.”

The tournament so far has been a very good one for the Kolkata Knight Riders under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir as the team is standing at the second position in the points table with 10 points in their account. They also have the best run rate than all other teams which is +1.177. The KKR kickstarted their tournament with a blast against the Gujrat Lions where they won the game without losing a single wicket. Skipper Gautam Gambhir himself along with Chris Lynn did this marvel and won the game by 10 wickets.side their best performance in their last

However, this side exhibited their best performance in their last gainst the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens when despite getting all-out for 131 runs in the first innings, the Kolkata bowling attack bundled the Bangalore side within 49 runs and 57 balls and forced them to set a weird record of putting lowest team total ever in IPLs.

However, the skipper was not much satisfied with that performance but they are determined enough to continue the carnage of victory in the forthcoming games and reach the ultimate destination, i.e the finale.

Gaurav Gambhir has played a total of 140 games till now in all the 10 seasons of IPL (for Delhi daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders collectively) and scored a total of 3939 runs. He has scored 34 fifties, hit 54 sixes and 460 fours so far.
