Indian Premier League 2017, KXIP v GL: Hashim Amla continued his good form and scored 65 off 40 balls before he left

Gujarat Lions won the toss and as expected elected to field first considering they chased down a formidable 187 against KKR the other night. The Kings XI Punjab innings did not start off as expected. Maxwell departed when he tried to reverse sweep Ravindra Jadeja, he missed and was trapped in front. Andrew Tye was bowling a lot of knuckle balls but he was still picked for runs, he picked 2 wickets in the process. Stoinis tried but never got going he departed for a sorry 7 off 9 balls. Axar Patel showed steel and resilience in the end, he hit a few lusty blows, courtesy which they reached to a defendable score. After going after Smith he finally fell prey to him when he top edged a ball and got out. Gujarat Lions need 189 to win.
