Hashim Amla scores first T20 century but Twitterati congratulates Virender Sehwag!

Hashim Amla blasted his first century in T20s against Mumbai Indians as he scored 104 unbeaten from 60 balls featuring 8 fours and 6 sixes

Hashim Amla with his maiden century in T20 format across all leagues and international T20 matches. Amla rubbished the critics who accused him of not being suitable for the shortest version of the game. But as he scored 104 from 60 balls blasting Mumbai Indians (MI) bowlers for 8 fours and 6 sixes, the Twitter world not only congratulated him but, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) mentor Virender Sehwag as well.

Tweeple do not refrain from praising and making trolls of players who are performing at their best. This time around they thanked former Indian fiery opener Sehwag for Amla’s success in the shortest version of the game. Amla seems to have cemented his berth as an opener in KXIP squad.

Amla has been known in the world of cricket as a player who has a temperament. His record in Tests and ODIs is one of the best in a current lot of players. But, he proves everyone wrong with his unbeaten 104 in which he hammered the bowlers all around the park. He is the right blend of class and power a player is supposed to possess.

This is not the first time Amla has played an inning like this in T20s as he scored 96 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. But, this time he was able to convert it into a century. An interesting fact about his inning was that he took on one of the best death bowlers in business, Lasith Malinga in 17th over.

If Sehwag was a commentator himself, he would have said, “Yeh Hashim Amla me meri aatma kaha se aa gayi”. Just saying!
