Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir is known to be a very reserved person who seldom has a laughter off-the field, that is his aura. Gautam Gambhir is also playing the IPL and is looking in good form, which augurs well for the team from the east Kolkata Knight Riders.
It is also known that Gautam Gambhir has strong political opinions we have heard him time and again echoing his consent on matters relating to the country. Gambhir has said that he will finance 25 CRPF personnel killed in an ambush by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s south Sukma area on Monday.
This is what Gautam Gambhir wrote in his column for an Indian media house that, “On Wednesday morning, I picked up newspapers and saw gut-wrenching pictures of the daughters of two CRPF men killed in the latest attacks. One was saluting her martyred father while in the other picture, the howling young woman was being consoled by her relative”.
“The Gautam Gambhir Foundation will take care of the entire education expenses of the children of these martyrs. My team has already started work on this and I shall soon share the progress we have made,” he wrote.
Adding further, he said: “It is for the same reasons I love armed forces too, although the quantum of losing a dear one while serving the country can never ever be compared to losing a cricket match.”
The Kolkata Knight Riders players wore black arm bands during Wednesday’s match against Rising Pune Supergiant in Pune.
