Indian Premier League 2017, RCB v GL: Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowlers he picked up 3 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs

After their comprehensive win against KKR, Gujarat Lions won the toss and opted to field. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, it is a must win, even for Gujarat Lions it is a must-win. It was the regular Virat and Chris Gayle who started off proceedings. Nathu Singh kicked of with the new ball. Soon Virat Kohli was sent packing by Basil Thampi for 10 runs and then Chris Gayle and Travis Head followed suite for 8 and 0 respectively, they were packed in consecutive balls by Andrew Tye. At the end of the power-play, they were 35 for 3. Then there was a counter-attack launched by Kedar Jadhav. ABD was feeling comfortable knocking it around for singles as Jadhav was unleashing his best. Finally Jadhav blitz ended when he tried to get too aggressive, he scored 31 off 18 balls.

Pawan Negi and Mandeep Singh then looked to resurrect the innings which was looking off-colour. But when things were just about looking up, Negi fell for 31 off 18 balls. Jadeja went for 28 runs in 4 overs and he picked up 2 wickets. Mandeep Singh tried but could not stick it out, he departed for 8 runs. It has to be said that Gujarat Lions bowled to a plan and they were disciplined with their bowling. But Tye was the pick of the bowlers he picked up 3 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs. Basil Thampi gave away 38 runs in 4 overs and he got a wicket as well.
