Whatever the challenge may be. Gambhir never backs down. Be it Shahid Afridi or mighty Australians who are known for their sledging. Gambhir proved too strong for them.

This attitude was on display when Gautam Gambhir came out to bat against New Zealand on Tuesday in Indore.

Riding on star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s 20th haul of five wickets or more, India put themselves in a commanding position as they had taken an overall lead of 276 runs over New Zealand at stumps on day three.

On Tuesday, India lost Murali Vijay early and Gambhir came out to bat to the delight of his fans.

On Monday, Gambhir had injured his shoulder by diving to complete a run in the start of India’s second innings.

He looked in agony. Indian physio escorted him out of the field. The injury looked serious.

But on Tuesday, Gambhir came out to bat and looked in perfect shape.
He was trying to score quickly as India were looking to post a big target for the Kiwis.

It is not only skills, champions are made of sheer grit and determination.
