Diego Maradona vs 'Dada' Sourav Ganguly, a charity football match in Kolkata soon!

Diego Maradona took to his official Facebook page and made a post which confirms the occurrence of the game. He also shared a poster of the upcoming historic football match between him and 'Dada', Sourav Ganguly

Ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the legendary football player and former captain of Argentina, Diego Maradona will arrive India and visit the city of joy, Kolkata. He is expected to visit in the month of September this year. India is all set to host this world tournament which is expected to be a historic event in the history of Indin football. The tournament will commence in October 2017.

Meanwhile, according to several media reports, it has also been learned that veteran Indian cricketer and former team India captain Sourav Ganguly will participate in a charity football competition and will play with legend Maradona. This face-off will be taking place on ‘Mahalaya’ day (The day when Goddess Durga arrives and Navratri begins) which is observed as a holy day among Bengalis.

Maradona took to his official Facebook page and made a post which says,”Just 100 days to go for my Kolkata visit and meet “Prince of Kolkata, Dada” and posted a picture about the upcoming historic game between him and ‘Dada’.

Earlier, the veteran football himself confirmed his Kolkata visit through a video-conference call with the promoter of the trip. He said,”It’s such an honour for me to make this trip to Kolkata. The city is a very special place and passionate about football. I have good memories from my last trip. The fans are fantastic.”

Last time Maradona visited Kolkata in 2008 and the fans went crazy after seeing him. He received a warm welcome and this time he will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award in West Bengal.

He had last visited the city of Kolkata in 2008 and had received a rousing welcome from the fans. He is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement award in West Bengal. He posted a message on his social media handle about his India trip. He also had shared a post on his official Facebook page on May 4 which was about his visit to India in September 2017.
