India have not been able to find  a replacement for Virender Sehwag, who had this great ability to score runs quickly in Test matches. Sehwag was fearless when it came to scoring shots, On many occasions, Sehwag completed his Test century by hitting a six. Rishabh Pant’s idea of batting is pretty much like his batting idol Virender Sehwag. The big question is, will Indian team management consider his candidature for the national side? The answer is they can.

India’s regular openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have been out of the team due to injury. KL Rahul is also injured. The selectors have just announced the team for the first two Tests against England. With his performance, the batsman has pushed his case.
