Suresh Raina meets PM Narendra Modi in Netherlands, is the cricketer contemplating politics?

Suresh Raina meets PM Narendra Modi: Raina, by the looks of it will get another chance as Yuvraj Singh's form has dipped

Left-handed Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina, who is not in favour at the Indian cricket team. The Indian cricket team that is currently on a tour to the Caribbean islands in West Indies does not feature Raina. Raina, who is known to be a finisher and has been seeking to make it back to the team was in Netherlands. Co-incidentally for him, he got the coveted opportunity of meeting the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who is on a diplomatic tour. Raina, apparently is holidaying with his wife Priyanka in Amsterdam.

“Delighted to meet the man with golden vision @narendramodi on his exceptionally constructive visit to the #Netherlands. #ModiInNetherlands,” tweeted Raina.

But we are speculating is there anything more than what meets the eye, we safely guess ‘no’. The left-handed batsman has played 223 ODIs and scored 5568 runs. He has scored 1307 runs in 65 T20Is. The southpaw from Meerut also happens to be the highest run-getter in Indian Premier League history. He has scored 4540 runs from 161 T20 matches in the IPL.

We can also get a sense of the fact that Raina is a great admirer od Narendra Modi when he says ‘the man with the golden vision’, that shows the respect the man exudes.

Raina, by the looks of it will get another chance as Yuvraj Singh’s form has dipped. But one thing for certain, he has to keep honing his skills and be in shape, so that as and when the opportunity comes his way, he should be able to grab it with both hands.

Amsterdam and the country Netherlands holds a special spot in Raina’a heart as he first met his now wife Priyanka in Netherlands.
