India will play the finals of the Women's World Cup on 23rd of July against the runner-up from the previous edition, hosts England

Former batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, is never far when it comes to giving a helping hand. But the latest revelations are stunning. It has apparently come to the limelight that Sachin Tendulkar helped Harmanpreet Kaur get a job with the Western Railways. Former India player Diana Edulji who spotted Harmanpreet told Indian Express that when she spotted the upcoming cricketer, she wanted her to move to Mumbai to hone her skills.

“She was getting a junior class in Northern Railway. I offered her a chief office superintendent post. Her application was later sent to Delhi, but was rejected by the president.” Edulji said.

That’s when Edulji picked up the matter personally and requested Tendulkar, who was a Rajya Sabha MP to write to the Railways ministry.

It was finally with the help of Sachin Tendulkar’s letter that the Railways finally relented, and Harmanpreet moved to Mumbai and the rest as they say is history.

After scoring a breathtaking 171, she spoke to a national news channel and said, “It was important for us to get runs on the board because Australia are a tough team to beat. Once I started hitting, the entire team got confidence and we managed to beat Australia.”

“It was our dream to reach the final of the World Cup and now we hope that we can go one step further and win the Cup. The team is getting ready for the final and we are not taking anything lightly,” Harmanpreet added.

India will play the finals of the Women’s World Cup on 23rd of July against the runner-up from the previous edition, hosts England. The match will be held at the iconic Lord’s.

All of India would be hoping that Harmanpreet Kaur comes good again.
