MS Dhoni slams a ton for Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Playing for Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy MS Dhoni played a blistering knock of 129 runs in the second game of tournament against Chattisgarh.

It seems Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s game has just gone better over the past few series, as the burden of captaincy has been dropped off from his shoulder. Playing for Jharkhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, MS Dhoni played a dominating knock of 129 runs in the second game of the tournament to keep the team afloat in the tournament.

MS Dhoni locked his ton with his signature move i.e. with a six. Out of which 56 runs were scored with the help of eight boundaries and four sixes. His century came in 94 balls.

Dhoni’s century came at a time when Jharkhand was struggling at 57/6 in the 20th over. Then came the partnership of 151 runs of MS Dhoni and Shahbaz Nadeem which kept the team sailing and help built a challenging total. The Dhoni-Nadeem partnership ended when Nadeem was dismissed at 53.

Earlier in the tournament, in the first match against Karnataka, former Indian skipper scored 43 runs. In this match, Jharkhand lost to Karnataka by 5 runs.

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 10th edition is about to begin, this can’t get better for Dhoni where he can really open his bat with his original batting style.

However, in a shocking decision by Rising Pune Supergiants Dhoni has been unceremoniously removed from the captaincy. But, it will interesting to see him as a player not as ‘Captain Cool Dhoni’.

Everything seems to be in order for Dhoni ahead of the million dollar IPL, where he would be looked at as a vital cog in the Rising Pune Supergiants unit.
