Indian all-rounder Pawan Negi looking for admission in Delhi University under sports quota

Pawan Negi last appeared in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 where he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was also included in the 15-men Indian squad for the World T20 2016 but didn't play any game

Young Indian cricketer Pawan Negi has decided to pursue higher studies and for that, he is seeking admission in the renowned Delhi University (DU). As per several media reports, Negi wants to complete his studies and hence his is looking for a seat in the university. However, as of now, he has to wait to get admission until his name gets shortlisted.

This young cricketer has applied for the admission under the sports quota. Some of the media reports state that around 13000 other people have also applied for admission under sports quota. On the other hand, the availability of seats for the sports quota is only 5 per cent. Currently, the University has released a list of 10 players who will be getting direct admission under this provision. Unfortunately, Pawan Negi’s name was not there in the first list.

The reason for not selecting him in the first cut-off list was that Negi provided only the National level documents while the preference was given to those players who have performed at the International level. Based on the same, the first list of 10 candidates was released. As learned from several media reports, Pawan Negi submitted the documents of the Vijay Hazare trophy which he played recently from Team Delhi.

And now, since his name is not on the list, he has to wait a bit more until his application gets approved for the admission procedure.

Pawan Negi last appeared in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 where he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He was released from the Delhi Daredevils franchise last year and then found a place in the RCB camp. Though his team showcased the worst performance of all the times, however, Negi was lucky enough to take 16 wickets in the entire tournament with an economy or near about 6. He was also included in the 15-men Indian squad for the World T20 2016 but couldn’t play any game.
