Anil Kumble, current coach of the Indian Cricket team which is playing its ICC Champions Trophy 2017 opener with Pakistan. But what has caught our attention is something that has happened of the pitch. After BCCI asked people to apply for the coach of the Indian cricket team after apparently Anil Kumble had asked for a hike in pay. Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody have already applied for the post among the big names. But with news pouring in it is believed gthat Anil Kumble has reapplied for his current designation, which is really strange.

On May 25, the BCCI invited applications citing that Kumble’s tenure as head coach would conclude with India’s campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy in England.

According to CricTracker, Kumble had applied for the job on May 30. If this report is true, we wonder why did everyone keep so hush-hush after knowing that the tiff between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble was brewing.

“To ensure a fair and completely transparent process, a nominee of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) will oversee the entire process along with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). The BCCI’s three-member CAC  comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and  V. V. S. Laxman will conduct interviews and seek presentations to select the best possible candidate to guide the team and take Indian cricket forward,’’ Sportstar quoted a BCCI official as saying.

If Anil Kumble wins this trophy and then applies, things could work in his favour. India too have a team that could be world beaters as most of them were a part of the team that won this very crown in 2013.
