Bangladesh spinner Mehedi Hasan wants coaching lessons from R Ashwin to counter Indian batsmen

Bangladesh is set to play their first ever Test match on Indian soil. The tourists are to play India in one-off Tes match at Hyderabad starting February 9. Bangladesh has not been able to win a single Test against India out of the 8 matches they have played till date. The hosts have won 6 out of 8 Test matches they have played against tourists.

Bangladesh’s right-arm offbreak bowler Mehedi Hasan who made a fairytale debut against England previous year will be hoping to repeat his magic in Hyderabad as well. The 19-year-old expresses his wish to learn from India’s in-form spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He wishes to get a few bowling tips from the master.  Hasan has picked up 23 wickets from 4 Tests, the reason why he is expected to deliver against in-form Indian team.

Hasan said, “Ashwin is a world class cricketer. I’m looking forward to consulting him to get some tips after the game. And I will be able to see up close how he bowls during a match. That experience will be very useful for me.”

“We have many fine spinners with experience in our team. I am also there with Shakib (Shakib Al Hasan) and Taijul (Taijul Islam). We have to be consistent in India. They have very good batsmen, but if we can bowl in the right areas, it will be possible to get a good (result),” he added.
