Salman Khan's Tubelight will add another feather to his cap. Here are 10 biggest hits of the actor that make him a pan-Indian superstar

Salman Khan will be seen in Kabir Khan’s upcoming 1962 Sino-India war drama Tubelight. He plays a small town guy Laxman Singh Bisht whostarts a hunt to look for his brother Bharat (Sohail Khan), a soldier who goes missing in the war. Ever since the trailer was unveiled on May 25, the actor’s fans declared it to a blockbuster. Produced by Salman Khan and his mother Salma Khan, the film also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, child actor Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan has done a cameo in the flick. Releasing on June 23, Tubelight will add another feather in the cap of Salman who is currently at the zenith of his career.

Sultan vs Baadshah

Although he made his debut after his Khan peers, Shah Rukh rose to the pinnacle of stardom after commercially successful films like Baazigar, Darr and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge. He continued to rule the Box Office and assumed the title of King Khan, Baadshah and others. If Shah Rukh Khan was the darling of the urban and NRI audience, Aamir boasted of a fan following with films that did not only set the cash registers running but also earned immense critical acclaim. Salman, on the other hand, became a rage among youth and had a fan base in small town India. He continued to deliver hits like Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Judwaa that helped him to create a pan-India popularity.

However, the tables have turned in the past five years as Salman has managed to eat into Shah Rukh’s fan base outside India. According to Box Office India, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is among the three highest grossing films in the US. The Kabir Khan directorial earned Rs 52 crore at the Box Office there, following Aamir Khan’s Dangal and PK. On the other hand, Shah Rukh’s Dilwale and Raees were relegated to the fourth and fifth spot, respectively. Similarly, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the highest grossing Bollywood film in the UK and the Middle East. On the other hand, Sultan is the highest grossing Bollywood film in Pakistan with collections worth Rs 52 crore.
