From Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora to Alia Bhatt, monochrome is taking Bollywood by storm

The monochrome trend has taken over the Bollywood and we must say our divas are just nailing it.

Black, white and chic all over? Here comes a trend which is no new but perfectly blending with today’s fashion. The monochrome trend has taken over the Bollywood and we must say our divas are just nailing it. When done it properly, it is by far the easiest and chicest to pull off. Recently, we saw Deepika Padukone slaying the monochrome look. While she was on TV shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Late Late Show with James Corden, Deepika was seen donning the monochrome trend.

For The Ellen Show, she was glowing in Michael Kors’ white separates. And for the look, she opted for the bare face. Her dress was paired with white strappy sandals.

The two hottest women in Bollywood – Sunny Leone and Malaika Arora Khan, too were seen flaunting the monochrome look. Both the women like to experiment a lot with their styles — be it at the airport or red carpet. While Malaika is a trendsetter and is often seen donning something new, Sunny’s sartorial choices make us notice her always.

Donning a beautiful cutout jacket by Kashmiraa paired with well-fitting white pants, Sunny was seen slaying the monochrome look. Tomas Moucka gave her those romantic tousled waves and smokey eyes, nude lips were just completing her look.sunny-leone-monochrome-image-for-inuth

Malaika who is always on top of the fashion game was seen in a monochrome outfit by Ayesha Depala — Dubai-based haute couture designer. The black ruffled top cinched at the waist with a wide belt is was just looking gorgeous. Celebrity stylist Maneka Harisinghani pairs the top with a white pencil skirt. And deep berry lip shade and bold kohl-lined eyes — Malaika was looking perfect.

Though these actresses were looking drop dead gorgeous, if don’t properly you might end up looking horrible. At a recent event, Neha Dhupia wore a Queen Elizabethian-style monochrome gown with a giant pussy bow covering her neck. The actress failed to impress with her overdone outfit.

Similarly, Anusha Dandekar dressed up in a monochromatic gown and posed with hubby. She is making it look more good.

How to get the monochrome

Though most of these actresses decided to go for black and white, monochrome doesn’t mean using the exact same shade for every outfit you wear. You can any day contrast light and dark shades. Try mixing a dark brown and a light beige. The contrast to an ensemble will certainly make the dress look pretty.

You can even mix prints, however, if done over it would defeat the purpose of monochrome. Go for a slight print with a single color. Remember to choose a color to highlight the difference in texture. Even mixing materials can give you another look.
