Wani fights for 'Azaadi' in 'Burhan Vs Modi' game, becomes a rage in Kashmir

An Android-based mobile phone game ‘Burhan Vs Modi’ featuring Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani has become a recent rage in Kashmir Valley. In the game, Wani’s character can shoot, kick and punch characters which resemble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per a report in the Hindustan Times, the aim of the game appears is to attain “azaadi” (freedom) to gain points. The report also states that pro-Azaadi lyrics are being played in the background. The game reportedly has six stages with ten levels each.

The developers of the game are anonymous but when the game begins, photos of two Kashmiri youngsters come up with a caption that reads ‘creator of the game’.

A senior officer of the police cyber cell has been quoted as saying in the report that a name of a certain man comes in the credit section. The police are trying to narrow down on the anonymous developers behind the game.

The game is not available on Google Play Store but youngsters in the Valley have reportedly said they got it from their friends’ phones through file sharing applications.

Burhan Wani was killed on July 8 and since the next day, there has been a lockdown in the Valley due to the agitations over his death. 95 civilians have been killed and thousands have been injured in the protests so far.
