UP: CBSE school 'orders' students to get 'Yogi haircut', not bring non-veg for tiffin

'We basically want very short haircuts, of the kind the Army gives', said the management

In a bizarre announcement, a CBSE affiliated school in Meerut has allegedly instructed its students to get a ‘hairstyle’ like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Not only that, but students are not allowed to grow a beard or eat non-veg during recess.

The students of Rishabh Academy Co-Educational English Medium School were not be allowed to enter the school because of their ‘inappropriate’ hairstyle. When the matter came to light, parents reached the school and protested. Finally, police had to come to intervene to calm down angry parents.

In a report published in The Times of India, Ranjeet Jain, secretary, the management committee of the school said, “I asked the students to get Yogi-like haircuts when they were unable to understand what we wanted. We basically want very short haircuts, of the kind the Army gives. Also, the students have been told strictly to not keep beards as this is not a madrassa or a place where they come to offer namaz.”

Clearing their stand on prohibiting non-veg in tiffins, the management said that the school is run by a Jain trust, therefore, students cannot get non-veg for lunch. Also, to make sure that students are following school’s order surprise check will also be conducted.

Also, girls and boys will be studying in separate classrooms, “This is being done for the safety of girls and to prevent love jihad. Muslim boys take on names similar to Hindus, befriend girls, tie ‘kalavas’ on their wrists and try to woo girls. I cannot tolerate this in school premises, Jain said.
