This surprise gift for an orphan girl is the best 'Eidi' one can get

Owing to her poor financial conditions, Shabana could not afford new clothes on the festival but at times surprises come from most unexpected corners

A 20-year-old girl from Varanasi who lost her parents at a very young age this year got Eidi (gift of Eid) that she would remember for the rest of her life. Owing to her poor financial conditions, Shabana could not afford new clothes on the festival but at times surprises come from most unexpected quarters. She might not have thought in her dream that just a day before Eid she would get Eidi from none other than DM of the city.

It all happened after the resident of Manduadih area in Kashi Vidyapith block Shabana sent a message to DM of Varanasi, Yogeshwar Ram Mishra,  mentioning the poor financial background of her family and her being unable to get new clothes on the festival. Her effort worked and by the evening she got new clothes for herself personally delivered by the SDM Sushil Kumar Gaud on the instructions of DM.

The gift also had new clothes for her 12-year-old younger brother and  70-year-old maternal grand mother with whom she lives after the demise of her parents in 2004.

As per Times of India Shabana on receiving the gift on Eid said, “It is really unbelievable to me that my request will get such a surprising and nice response. I am out of words to express my feelings and convey my gratitude to the DM”.
