Superstar Rajinikanth joins Jallikattu protest

Musician AR Rahman is on a day long fast against the ban on the ancient bull-taming sport.

As the protest against the ban on Jallikattu is escalating gradually, superstar Rajinikanth joins the protest today. Other actors are from tamil film industry to be part of the silent assembly.

Jallikattu has got support from actors like Kamal Hasan, Suriya, Trisha Krishnan who are also supporting the agitation that is taking place at Marina beach to uplift a ban on the bull taming sport.

Other actors are too expected to join the protest at Nadigar Sangam – the South Indian Artistes Association – to show unity with the people who are protesting at Marina beach.

Rajini, did not say anything on the issue. Whereas, his son-in-law and an actor himself Dhanush said that he regrets the decision of taking PETA’s Hottest Vegetarian award in 2012 and said that no one in the family supports the organisation.

Musician AR Rahman also is on a day long fast today against the ban. He had tweeted about it on January 19.

As per reports, today 46 AIADMK MP’s met Home Minister, Rajnath Singh to press for ordinance on the issue. AIADMK
MP Thambidurai told that the Home Minster assured them for the early processing of file so that the ordinance can be promulgated in the next 2-3 days.

There are thousands of protesters at Marina beach since Monday.

Supreme court today postpone order on Jallikattu for a week as to end a deadlock centre asked the apex court for more time.

As the agitation is growing with each passing day across Tamil Nadu, protesters from Madurai to Chennai join in, also demanding banning on PETA.
