With no heir, what will happen to Jayalalithaa's Rs 113.73 crore property?

Will the 24,000 sqft Veda Nilayam in Poes Garden go to Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala Natarajan?

Did you know that as per her declaration in April 2015, AIADMK supremo and late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had assets worth Rs 113.73 crore? But with no legal heir, who will be the proud owner of Amma’s assets?

The 24,000 sqft Veda Nilayam in Poes Garden is synonymous to Jayalalithaa. The residential property worth Rs 43.96 crore was bought for Rs 1.32 lakh by her mother in 1967. As per reports, her close aide Sasikala Natarajan is likely to get the possession of this magnificent house.

The former CM also owns 14.50 acres of farm land in Jeedimetla village in Telangana which she had purchased in 1968 along with her mother Sandhya. She bought another farm land of 3.43 acres in Cheyyur Village in Kancheepuram village in Tamil Nadu in 1981.

Of the four commercial buildings that she owns, one is likely to be given to VN Sudhakaran, Jayalalithaa’s once ‘foster son’ and nephew of Sasikala.

Not one, not two, she owned nine vehicles are worth around Rs 42,25,000. These include Toyoto Prado SUVs, a Tempo Traveller, a Tempo Trax, a Mahindra Jeep, an Ambassador car of 1980 make, a Mahindra Bolero, a Swaraj Mazada Maxi, and a 1990 model Contessa.

She owns movable assets worth Rs 41.63 crore and immovable assets Rs 72.09 crore.

Jayalalithaa owns 1,250 kg of silver articles worth Rs 3,12,50,000. The value of the 21,280.300 gram gold jewellery has not been ascertained as it is with the Karnataka government treasury in connection with a disproportionate assets case against her.

Showing her intellect in business, Jayalalithaa was a ‘partner’ in five firms with her total share valued at Rs 27.44 crore. These include Shri Jaya Publications, Sasi Enterprises, Kodanad Estate, Royal Valley Floritech Exports and Green T Estate.

Her latest declaration stated that she had Rs 41,000 cash in hand. She had also listed Rs 2.04 crore as her liabilities and declared her profession as agriculture in the occupation column.
