UP CM Yogi Adityanath likely to be star campaigner for BJP in Gujarat

BJP has set a target of winning 150 seats. Besides Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath will be the star campaigner for the party.

After delivering positive results for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, it seems that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be chosen as the star campaigner for the party in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls.

According to reports, state BJP president Jitu Vaghani held a meeting on March 27 with BJP MLAs and party members of Saurashtra in Rajkot and deliberated on how the saffron party can gain seats in the region.

Improving the party’s tally in the elections will be an acid test for the senior leaders in Gujarat. Saurashtra and Kutch account for 53 Assembly seats, out of which the BJP has its MLAs on 35 seats.

BJP has reportedly set a target of winning 40-plus seats in the region. Besides Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath will surprisingly be the star campaigner for the party.

According to a TOI report, after gaining more than 300 seats in UP, the party has set a target of 150 seats in Gujarat. An initial list of BJP campaigners has been drawn and the newly elected CM of UP Yogi Adityanath will be one of the star campaigners.

Reports suggest that the BJP is not planning for an early election. The party has also rejected Congress’ claim that eight BJP MLAs were in touch with the party to switch over and said that BJP’s core strength is its unity and Congress is misleading the people.
