Day four at the winter session of both the houses of the Parliament witnessed an uproar over demonetisation.

Leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) conducted a parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday ahead of the beginning of the day five of the winter session of the parliament. Leaders of the opposition too held a meeting in the parliament ahead of the beginning of today’s session.

“We passed a resolution in favour of demonetisation, was moved by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh,” Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu said after the BJP Parliamentary party meet.

“We are ready for discussion on demonetisation, have said it many times,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said after the BJP Parliamentary party meet.

“Some people saying even FM did not know of this decision, and then they say the party knew beforehand,” he added.

Meanwhile, president Pranab Mukherjee will be meeting the leaders of opposition on the sidelines demonetisation today.
