After big loss in UP, Samajwadi Party releases new slogan 'Aapki cycle sadaa chalegi aapke naam se...'

Powered by an aggressive campaign under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party returned to power after 14 long years in Uttar Pradesh

Following the humiliating defeat in the recently held Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi party released the new slogan to start afresh. Samajwadi Party, in alliance with Congress, managed to grab just 47 assembly seats out of 403.

‘Aapki cycle sadaa chalegi aapke naam se, fir pradesh ka dil jeetenge hum milkar apne kaam se,’ news agency ANI tweeted Samajwadi Party’s new slogan.

Powered by an aggressive campaign under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party returned to power after 14 long years in Uttar Pradesh following a landslide victory by winning 324 of 403 seats.

Soon after the results were announced, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh said: “BJP’s cruising to victory in Uttar Pradesh was an indication that voters in the state have risen above caste for the first time.”

Calling the victory bigger than the 2014 General elections, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said: “It is a tectonic shift in Indian politics.”

Samajwadi Party fought the polls in alliance with Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party. After the defeat, Congress party expressed shock and said: “BJP ‘sold dreams’ to win Uttar Pradesh and voters would soon realise when the party fails to deliver on its election promises.”
