Maharashtra youth uses wig to increase height, gets disqualified from police recruitment

Initially, he youth had qualified the process as his height was measured more than 165 cm

The recruitment for police constables is underway across the state of Maharashtra, excluding Mumbai and
Aurangabad city, which started on March 22. The recruitments are carried out for 5,756 vacant posts while approximately 8.73 lakh candidates have applied for these posts. Meanwhile, an incident happened during this process which left the recruiters amazed. There have been certain cases in which the candidates cheat to get selected for the government posts but what happened in Nashik is something which was never heard before.

In order to get selected for the post of constable, a 22-year-old youth Rahul Patil did something which led him out of the race and made him ineligible for the selections. As stated by a recruitment official, the candidate was disqualified from recruitment for Maharashtra police on March 25 after he was found wearing a wig in order to raise his height.

“Rahul Patil, hailing from Trimbakeshwar was disqualified after he was found wearing a wig to raise his
height required for police recruitment,” Nashik Deputy Commissioner of Police Shrikant Dhivare told the reporters. Dhivare also said that initially, Rahul had qualified the process as his height was measured more than 165 cm.

But later, a police constable suspected something wrong in his appearance. After sensing a foul play, the recruiter questioned Rahul. After few moments, Rahul admitted that he had put on a wig to make sure that his height looks more than the original and he could get selected.

Following his admission, Rahul was disqualified from police recruitment and necessary action will be taken, said
Dhivare.
