Madly in love with ex girlfriend, Delhi man stole several Hyundai Creta cars to woo other women

The matter came to light after police started its investigation when a Creta was stolen

A man madly in love with a woman who told him about her love for Hyundai Creta before leaving him for another man started stealing this particular car to pursue other women. Raj Bhatia, a 65-year-old auto thief was arrested by the police for stealing the cars. He has been arrested many times in the past for stealing cars in Delhi and other states.

As per a report published in Times of India, he along with his associates used to follow cars, identify their location and steal them. The matter came to light after police started its investigation when a Creta was stolen and after a tip off Poice arrested Bhatia.

For past several years, Bhatia had been staying at a rented accommodation in Palam Vihar area of Delhi.After stealing a car Bhatia use the vehicle to woo women and after some days he used to sell it off for as less as Rs 1 lakh.

DCP (west) Vijay Kumar said, “We came to know that Bhatia and his accomplices used to keep the stolen vehicles at a park in Palam Vihar. A team of four policemen led by SHO Kirti Nagar Anil Sharma was then posted outside the park round the clock.”

Bhatia’s accomplice during investigation told police that he had got an electronic key from one of his friends and with the help of the key he used to unlock the car.

PAfter getting arrested Bhatia initially denied his involvement in stealing cars, but accepted his role in the crime. He also told police that next week they were planning to steal another Creta.
