Kejriwal should not have attacked PM Modi over surgical strikes: Kumar Vishwas

He blamed Punjab loss to wrong decisions made by party high command

Cracks have started to emerge in Aam Aadmi Party following party’s recent drubbing in MCD Polls, After Singrur MP Bhagwant Mann’s outburst on party-high command, it was Kumar Vishwas’ turn to vent his anger at top brass. Speaking with a news channel, Vishwas attributed a slew of factors for AAP’s electoral defeat.

Terming Party convener Arvind Kejriwal’s move to question surgical strike as wrong, Vishwas said,” Kejriwal should not have attacked the Prime Minister over surgical strike”. He also stressed that blaming only EVMs for loss is not good. “We did not lose the elections because of EVMs. People did not vote for us in enough number. There is mistrust among the people for us,” he said.

Blaming Punjab loss to wrong decision by high command, he said,”Ticket distribution was wrong. People from the Congress and the Akali were given tickets. Many decisions were taken inside closed door,” Kumar Vishwas said.

“This is our sixth defeat because we were disconnected with volunteers. EVMs should not be blamed solely. We lost because people did not vote for us.” Vishwas also alleged that the party’s top brass had lost connect with grassroot workers. He pointed out that the party had drawbacks and an overhaul was necessary.

Earlier, party’s Singrur MP Bhagwant Mann held the party high command responsible for defeat in Punjab elections. After keeping mum for almost two months, Mann minced no words in slamming party leadership. Speaking to  Chandigarh-based Tribune, he said,” There is no use finding fault in EVMs now, the party leadership committed a historic blunder with regard to the overall strategy in the elections. First, it should look within to find out reasons that stopped AAP’s march to power.”
