Karnataka CM orders probe into play school child abuses, says 'guilty will not be spared'

The minor girl was allegedly shamed by the removal of her undergarments while being allowed to keep her skirt on at school in Karnataka.

In a strong response to the mental and physical abuse of a five-year-old girl in an Ulsoor school, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah has ordered state authorities to diligently investigate cases of child abuse in play school and to take strict action against the culprit.

Siddaramaiah said, “I have asked Police Commissioner to diligently investigate the play school child abuse cases.Those who are guilty will not be spared.

The child abuse case at the school in Karnataka came to limelight when the parents —of five-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to mental and physical abuse—filed an FIR at the Ulsoor Police Station on Fenruary 24, three weeks after the incident occurred. The FIR copy states that this abuse took place between June 2016 and February 24, 2017. The minor girl was allegedly shamed by the removal of her undergarments while being allowed to keep her skirt on.

The parents took to social media social media to address girl’s grievance when the abuse continued by the school and soon they gained the attention.

Summoning the school management, the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights initiated a probe in this case.

Nearly three weeks after it came to light that a five-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to mental and physical abuse in an Ulsoor school, the parents lodged an FIR on Friday at the Ulsoor Police Station. It is alleged that the teachers in the school allegedly beat the child during her classes, and even threatened to pull down her pants and take her to a dark room where a dog would attack her.

The parent also alleged that the teacher would punish boys by forcibly pulling down their pants and making the rest of the class chant ‘Shame, shame, puppy shame’.
