Is this for real! Harry Potter will now be in your school syllabus

Besides Harry Potter, Feluda, Poirot and Holmes will also soon be in the school bags of junior and middle school students

Gear up all Harry Potter fans! The popular and the most loved fiction series will now be in your school syllabus.

The Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) has allowed several popular books like Harry Potter for junior and middle-school students in their syllabus. The changed syllabus will come into effect from the 2017-18 session.

In fact, students will be studying graphic novels like Amar Chitra Katha, Tintin and Asterix as well as American cartoonist Art Spiegel man’s Holocaust saga ‘Maus’ in classes from III to VIII.

Besides Harry Potter, Feluda, Poirot and Holmes will also soon be in the school bags of junior and middle school students.

The Association of School for Indian School Certificate (ASISC) at the 58th national conference had said that there will be a revision in syllabus of ISC and ICSE for students appearing for the exam in 2018. The changes will also be for the subjects of history and civics, geography, mathematics and physics.

Also for ISC, major changes have been planned for subjects including physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology.

As is the common perception that CBSE is an easier board than ICSC, the latter is trying to lessen the burden on students.
