'I quit' 17 year old student allegedly commits suicide after failing CBSE class 12 exam 2017

A 17-year-old student who appeared in the CBSE class 12 exams 2017 allegedly committed suicide soon after CBSE class 12 results 2017 were declared

In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old student from Mumbai allegedly committed suicide after he failed in the CBSE Class 12 examinations.  CBSE class 12 results 2017 were declared the Central Board of Secondary Education on Sunday, May 28 on their official website.

According to several media reports, the deceased identified as Prithvi Sachin Wavhal committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fans soon after the results were declared. Prithvi who reportedly failed in two subjects allegedly took the drastic steps when his family members were not present in the house. He also wrote suicide to his parents and wrote “I quit” on the wall while apologising to his parents for failing the exams in his suicide note.

Reports suggest that Prithvi’s mother who is a doctor by profession called up his friend residing in the area to inquire about her son after he did not respond to her calls. It was his friend who found him hanging from the ceiling. Prithvi was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. “We have registered an accidental death report. The victim left behind a handwritten note, in which he said ‘Sorry mother for disappointing you’,” Times of India quoted a police official as saying.

The police have also registered a case in Sanpada police station. However, it is being reported that the Prithvi did not mention anything about CBSE result in his suicide note. At least 11 lakh students appeared for the CBSE exams that were conducted between March 9 and April 29. Raksha Gopal a student of Amity International School, Noida topped the CBSE exams 2017 by scoring 99.6%.
