Engineering student dies due to rash driving in Banjara hills, Hyderabad, 2 injured

The whole incident which took place in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad was captured on a CCTV showing the car hitting the divider in an attempt to overtake an auto

Rash driving took life of a 20-year-old engineering student in Hyderabad while two of his friends who were with when the tragic incident occurred got seriously injured. The accident took place on Tuesday when the car rammed into the divider on the Road Number 3, near Banjara Hills area of the city. Before falling on the ground, the car flipped in the air four times.

Fasahat Ali a second year engineering student of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering, who was driving the car, suffered severe head injuries died on the spot. The incident took place Ali with his two friends: Danish Javed and Syed Waiz Hussain have stepped out of their college during the break to have lunch at a restaurant.  It was when they all three of them were coming back to the college the incident took place.

As per a report in the Times of India, Banjara Hills SI Harish Reddy  said, “The three friends had lunch at a restaurant near Green Mosque. After lunch, they took the route via Mountain Bakery and went straight and then took a U-turn to reach their college”.

The whole incident was captured on a CCTV showing the car hitting the divider in an attempt to overtake an auto. After which it somersaulted before falling on the road. Due to the accident, there was a slowdown in the traffic for more than an hour.

“The driver’s head hit the median, causing fatal injuries. One student suffered a fracture to his hand while another escaped unhurt,” said the official.
