BJP leader wants to ban 'killer' momos, Twitter wants to ban the minister instead

BJP leader Ramesh Arora said that eating momos can be life-threatening and can also cause cancer of the intestine. He also boasts that due to his campaigning against momos, there has been a drop of 35% in the sale of the street food

Momo lovers would not be very happy to hear what Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ramesh Arora had to say about one of the most loved street foods in India. On Wednesday, the BJP leader suggested people should not eat momos as eating them could be ‘life threatening’. The reason cited by him for banning momos is that it contains the carcinogenic monosodium glutamate or Ajinomoto. It is not for the first time that he is speaking against momos. The BJP legislator from Jammu and Kashmir has been campaigning for a ban on this street food since the past five months.

Campaigning against momos, Ramesh Arora on Wednesday said: “Momos have been found to be the root cause of several life-threatening diseases, including cancer of the intestine”. At several public functions, Arora has spoken in favour of putting a ban on the famous food, at least in Jammu and Kashmir.  He also boasted that after he spoke against momos, there has been a drop of 35% in the sale of the street food.
