Asaduddin Owaisi questions Indian Army's surgical strike, terms it a mere 'jumla'

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi found himself in the midst of another row following his tweet which suggested that the Indian Army’s surgical strike was a mere ‘jumla’.

Owaisi, the sitting MP from Hyderabad is the latest politician questioning the authenticity of surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army in the wee hours of September 29.

Earlier, senior Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday had questioned the authenticity of the surgical strikes.

“Every Indian wants #SurgicalStrikesAgainstPak but not a fake one to extract just political benefit by #BJP,” he tweeted.

Attacked for the comment, he later clarified, “I’m not saying you release all video footage, I don’t think so either… as it may not be in the interest of national security… but there is a need to show some proof.”
