280 people have died out of shock post Jayalalithaa's death

Jayalalithaa passed away on 4 December in Chennai due to cardiac arrest.

The ruling AIADMK on Saturday revealed a shocking list of 203 who have reportedly died out of “shock” over the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

In total, 280 people have reportedly died after hearing the shocking news of Jayalalithaa’s death. The state government has also announced a compensation of Rs 3 Lakh for the family of people who immolated themselves because of shock after the death of Amma.

Earlier this week, the party had said that 77 people had died due to the same reason.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa, passed away on 4 December in Chennai after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was buried with full military honours at Marina beach in Chennai. Her mortal remains were also placed at the Rajaji hall in Chennai for public homage.

Millions of people gathered outside Rajaji Hall and Marina beach in Chennai to mourn the late AIADMK supremo. Top politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Chennai and paid homage to the late Jayalalithaa.

Her loyal understudy O Panneerselvam has been made the new chief minister of the state. The senior AIADMK leader took oath as the next CM of Tamil in the presence of Governor C Vidyasagar Rao following a 2-minute silence.
