The one-minute video of Begum Jaan gives us a sneak peek into the life of Begum Jaan and the hardships she faced during India and Pakistan's independence

Vidya Balan’s upcoming film Begum Jaan is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited films of this year. Helmed by National Award winner Srijit Mukherji, the film is a Hindi adaptation of his critically acclaimed Bengali film Rajkahini.

After releasing the trailer, two songs and a making video of Begum Jaan, the makers have now unveiled the very first dialogue promo of the film and it is simply amazing. Vidya, who plays the role of a brothel madam in the film has totally nailed it with his fierce and bold dialogues. The one-minute video gives us a sneak peek into the life of Begum Jaan and the hardships she faced during India and Pakistan’s independence.

The film is a frame to frame copy of Rajkahini and people who have already watched the Bengali one, will surely compare Vidya with Rituparna Sengupta, who played the main lead in RajKahini.  But it won’t be wrong to say that Vidya has completely done justice to her character and you won’t be able to take your eyes off her in the film.

For its bold screenplay and dialogues, Begum Jaan recently came under the scanner of the Censor Board. The CBFC has heavily chopped off few major scenes from the film, including the ones which show communal violence and love-making. Apart from this, the board has also suggested around 12 cuts to the makers.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt also shared the dialogue promo on his Twitter handle with the caption: They will fight for their honour, their respect and their home. While Vidya took to her Instagram account and shared a new poster of the film with a caption: Janaab, ab Bagawat hogiHere’s a look at the poster:
