Tamil Nadu Box Office: Aamir Khan's Dangal emerges all-time highest Bollywood grosser

Dangal has surpassed PK's Box Office collection in Tamil Nadu, breaking the existing records. It is soon going to be the highest Hindi film

Aamir Khan fans have a reason to rejoice as the actor’s 2016 Christmas release, Dangal turned out to be an all-time blockbuster at the Tamil Nadu Box Office.

The sports drama, which released on 23 December created a new Box Office record by becoming the first Rs 15 crore Bollywood grosser at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. Be it in Chennai or Chengalpet, Dangal had a dream run in every part of Tamil Nadu. At the Chennai Box Office alone, Dangal has minted Rs 4 crore in 12-theatrical days. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial has set a unique record by crossing Rs 1 crore on consequent weekends. At Chengalpet, the Aamir Khan starrer grossed a whopping Rs 6 crore in 12-days. With such an amazing feat, Dangal has emerged as the all-time highest Bollywood grosser at the Tamil Nadu Box Office.

It’s worth mentioning that these days Bollywood films are getting a grand response at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. Earlier, Hindi films like Fan, Neerja, Housefull 3 and Sultan too had a great run at the Tamil Nadu BO.

Meanwhile, Dangal is all set to become the highest grossing Indian film of the year on Wednesday. The collections of this Aamir Khan starrer till Thursday stand at a massive Rs 295 crore. It is expected to beat 2016’s highest grosser — Sultan, today. Dangal will be Aamir Khan’s second Rs 300 crore grosser and the film has now every chance to unseat his 2014 blockbuster PK to become all-time highest grossing Indian film.

Dangal is also doing phenomenal business at overseas Box Office as well. The wrestling-drama has so far minted Rs 155 crore overseas. Dangal also starred Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Zaira Wasim and Sanya Malhotra.
