Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s most anticipated sci-fi movie 2.0 is all set to release on January 25, 2018, after the delays. The promotions of the film have already begun with a world tour in an interesting rather innovative manner. However, 2.0‘s team will unveil the first teaser promo and reveal the look on Diwali.

These days the filmmakers are coming up with out of the box ideas to prove their mettle at the Box Office. In order to build a strong hold over the fans, the makers of the 2.0 have come up with an idea to promote the film through a world tour with the help of a ‘hot air balloon’.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to microblogging site Twitter and shared the information about the promotional details of the film. He tweeted:

Bala also informed that 2.0, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 Tamil blockbuster Enthiran, has reached the budget of whopping Rs 400 crores. He wrote:


The high budget film features Rajinikanth in dual roles as Scientist Vaseegaran and Chitti: The Robot. The Bollywood Khiladi, Akshay Kumar will be seen portraying the antagonist role of Dr. Richard. The flick also stars Madarasippatanam fame Amy Jackson in the female lead and also stars Adil Hussain, Malayalam actors Kalabhavan Shajon and Riyaz Khan.

Earlier, the film was slated to release during Diwali this year but has been pushed to next year because of the extensive VFX. The movie will simultaneously release in Telugu and Hindi.


The satellite rights of the film were sold for a whopping Rs 110 crore in all languages. While the theatrical rights for the Hindi version were recently bought for Rs 80 crore.
