Sanjay Dutt's biopic goes on floors, likely to clash with Salman Khan's 'Tiger Zinda Hai' at the box office

With biopics being the current favourite genre of filmmakers, a movie on Sanjay Dutt’s life will be a great opportunity to know everything about him

After much ado, Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt went on floors on January 14 and finally we will get to see a masterpiece on the silver screen really soon. The movie was in news ever since its announcement and there was also news of a tiff between Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor regarding the film.

But it seems like those were all just baseless rumours, as the shooting has just begun. An elated Hirani took to Twitter and shared his happiness about the film getting finally started, and wrote: First shot taken now for Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. Canning a very funny scene. Excitement in cast and crew.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Hirani opened up about the film and revealed many interesting things about the biopic. He said:

It’s not a film about guns, drugs and the underworld. It’s a feel-good film about a father-son relationship with Paresh Rawal playing Sunil Dutt and Ranbir as Sanju… A buddy film with Sanju’s many friends adding up to one from the US, played by Vicky Kaushal.
